We are delighted to host our first lecture of 2024 ‘From Tramore to Tokyo: Patrick Lafcadio Hearn – A Life of Consequence’ presented by Agnes Aylward of Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens in Tramore. Agnes will discuss Hearn’s Irish family and background, his life’s work and posthumous impact on the settlement of Japan post World War II. The lecture will also cover the inspiration of Hearn’s life story and literary work in the creation of the Japanese Gardens in Tramore.
