Join Rosemary Ryan, Keeper of the Bishop’s Palace, on a tour of Ireland’s National Horological Museum, home to some of the worlds oldest Irish Timepieces, and discover centuries of craftmanship and innovation.
This tour will offer a deeper insight of some of the greatest horological treasures from across the world, from the remarkable William Clement Clock, to our new Black Forest Cuckoo Clock Exhibition.

Join curators Clíona Purcell and Donnchadh O Ceallacháin this Culture Night for free guided tours of our Irish Wake Museum! Explore the traditions and superstitions of life and death – one of the most iconic parts of Irish Culture. This tour will offer expert knowledge on the themes of death and funeral practices, alongside the history of was once a 15th-century Almshouse.
– Please note: We greatly appreciate that the subject matter of this museum may be upsetting for some and consideration should be taken to ensure that this is the correct experience for you and your companions. We advise that, at a minimum, this experience is not suitable for children under the age of 8 years.
– Due to the nature of this building, The Irish Wake Museeum is not suitable for reduced mobility. This tour takes place across three floors, which are only accessible by stairs.
